Cornwall Sound Map Project:

Celebrating and Preserving the Hidden Sounds of Cornwall

This is a work-in-progress project dedicated to capturing field recordings of soundscapes from around the county. The aims of this project are to archive and preserve soundscapes from around Cornwall, paying particular attention to the cultural heritage and collective memories these sounds embody. I aim to raise awareness of the importance of soundscape ecology to prevent these soundscapes from being lost and forgotten during the passage of time.

The idea for this project grew from a love of field recording and exploring the memories sound can trigger.  I hope to capture and showcase the sonic wonders of this beautiful part of the country for others to enjoy for years to come.
